Working with the largest population, Aging Adults are now looking to be healthier and more active. Yoga helps to bring awareness to the body and helps it to connect to the mind and spirit. We will discuss the affects of aging on the body, common ailments and contraindications and how yoga can help. This will be a 2 part training with the first focusing more on common ailments and conditions, disorders and contraindications, fall prevention and balance techniques. We will discuss the Koshas and how they can help with the aging process. You will prepare sample classes to help convey your level of understanding. The second will recap common ailments and contraindications and begin to dive deeper into alternative ways to help our aging students.

We will be learning the history of Asana, how to use props and modifications for each pose, learning how to physically, verabally and if necessary hands-on touch to help align the pose. We will break down 20 asanas in detail including how to use the wall and chair as well. We will discuss the anatomy of each asana and the muscles involved. We will focus on aligment in an Iyengar appraoch to the asanas.

This is a two day Reiki Level 1 & 2 Training classes. In these you will learn about the Reiki energy, history and how to use it. You will receive 2 attunements while mastering First and Second Degree Reiki Techniques. The class will be small for a more one on one training. It is recommended you take the classes together as they reinforce each other, however you can, of course, take just one level at a time.

Level Reiki I Class

We will begin with the Reiki history and learn what Reiki Energy is all about, the Chakras for both human and pets, and how to facilitate a Reiki session on yourself and others.

There will be an hour lunch break around 1:00pm and we are about 5-10 min from town, so please plan accordingly. Continuing after lunch, you will each receive the Reiki 1 Attunement. Following the attunement, you will practice on each other to further experience the Reiki Energy. At the closing of the day, you will be ready to do Reiki on yourself, others and your pets. Dress comfortably; all other items will be provided as well as a few snacks and bottled water (please feel free to bring your own bottle to refill during the day, we have Reverse Osmosis water) .

Level Reiki 2 Class

We will begin with the three Reiki Symbols, what each mean and how to use and activate them in your healing practice. We will then learn about Reiki Distant Healing and how to send and use it. Continuing after lunch, you will each receive the Reiki 2 Attunement and symbols. You will practice sending distant Reiki with our photo in hand (bring a photo of a person or pet you would like the class to send Distant healing to; if you do not have a photo, we can still send healing with a name and location). If possible, obtain permission from this person for us to send Reiki healing to (if you don’t we can appeal to their higher selves for permission). Following this, you will practice using the new symbols and their associated new energies.

Tuition for one day is $189 and for the two days is $350
